Every Christmas Eve the Community Kitchen serves a festive meal at Holy Trinity for people in need. This year that meal will coincide with the ‘pre-launch’ of our Community Café.
Our big plan for 2024 is to open a Saturday Community Café at Holy Trinity, the church where we are based, offering a warm, welcoming space and delicious coffee, cake, soup and bread. The café will be open to everyone.
The food and drink will be free, but those who can afford to do so will be invited to make a donation to cover the costs of their meal and that of a person in need.
We hope to launch the café in the spring of 2024. But a ‘pre-launch’ festive meal is planned for 24 December to welcome invited guests, including our food bank clients and others from the communities we currently cook for on a regular basis.
We will be serving Christmas fare – festive soups and cakes – and will be unveiling our new professional Italian espresso machine! A live band will be playing Christmas music.
