Volunteer
Are you interested in joining our team of volunteers? Whether you can cook, clean, transport food, help organise, or contribute financially, all help is welcome!
What does volunteering look like?
At a portioning session, you will portion out prepared food to be distributed to our neighbours in need.
At a cooking session, you will prepare meals alongside a team. No experience needed, only willing and helpful hands!
As a driver, you will collect unsold produce from various food markets across Brussels to deliver to the kitchen, ready for prep and cooking by the next team of chefs.
How can I join a session?
To register for a portioning or cooking session, you will need to download Serve the City’s ServeNow App and register on the platform. This will enable you to register immediately for a portioning session and request more information to join a cooking session.

"Helping in the Community Kitchen is not just about preparing meals; it's about spreading love, care, and hope through food. It is a humbling experience that teaches us to be grateful, compassionate, and selfless. Let's join hands and make a difference, one meal at a time."

"Serving as a volunteer at the community kitchen has easily become one of the best things I’ve done since moving to Brussels one year ago! Not only is it rewarding to help cook meals for hundreds of people in need, it’s also an incredibly welcoming and fun community that I’m honored to be a part of and doing such great work with all the other wonderful community kitchen volunteers."
Delaney
